Guest Services

The Guest Services desk

Located in the Museum's main lobby, Guest Services is your resource for many museum amenities and services, including Lost and Found, maps, brochures, self-guided and audio tours, and information about guided tours and educational programs.

Wheelchairs

A limited number of wheelchairs are available from Guest Services on a first-come, first-served basis, at no cost.

Strollers

Strollers are welcome in all parts of the Museum, as long as space permits and the stroller is controlled by an adult.

Checkroom

Large items, including backpacks, backpack-style child carriers, tripods, umbrellas, or any package or other item larger than 11 x 15" are not allowed in the galleries and should be left in the checkroom. Checkrooms are located in the lower lobby (one level down from the main lobby), and adjacent to the Great Hall lobby.

Restrooms

There are restrooms in the following locations, with family restrooms and changing stations available at each. Consult your Museum map for exact locations.

  • lower lobby
  • lower level of the Temporary Exhibitions gallery between Late Nineteenth Century and Early Twentieth Century galleries
  • lower level between Early Twentieth Century and Twentieth Century galleries
  • the corridor near the Great Hall

Nursing Mothers

On the first floor near the Great Hall there is a private room that can be used, when it is available, by nursing mothers who prefer a private setting. Please ask a Museum security officer or Guest Services for access.

Wifi

Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in all the indoor public spaces.

Gallery Seating

Benches are located in each gallery to allow you to sit down, rest, and enjoy the artwork. Additional seating is provided at locations between galleries where you can take in views of the beautiful Crystal Bridges landscape.
